[Digital focus stacking] Cephalotes angustus Ants of the genus Cephalotes are restricted to the New World and all species live arboreal. They nest inside dead or living stems of plants. Pollen seems to be a major component of their diet. Recently S. Yanoviak and coworkers found that they are excellent gliders. Picture was taken in cooperation with the "Staatl. Museum für Naturkunde Karlsruhe".
