Poppy bee
Poppy bee bee is collecting pollen on a cornflowers (centaurea cyanus) as food for the larva. The poppy bee (Osmia papaveris or Hoplitis papaveris) is a leaf-cutting bee that lines its cells with pieces of poppy petals. First, the female digs a nest in sandy soil. When the nest is large enough, the bee starts cutting small pieces from petals of the common poppy with its mandibles and presses them into a tiny package which is then carried to the nest. The package is unfolded again in the brood chamber to serve as a lining.
