Poppy bee (Osmia papaveris or Hoplitis papaveris)
The poppy bee (Osmia papaveris or Hoplitis papaveris) are solitary wild bees that dig their nests in sandy soil. The nest is then lined with pieces of petals from the common poppy (Papaver rhoeas). Filled with pollen and nectar, it usually contains one single egg from which a new bee emerges after about one year.
