The scaleless black dragonfish (Melanostomias melanops) is a slender, up to 30 cm long deep sea fish. It features a fleshy bioluminescence process at its chin, used to lure prey within reach of the heavily toothed mouth. Light emitting organs are arranged alongside the lower part of its body and below the eye. It can be found in the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific Ocean. Preserved specimen.
